Nandrolone Phenylpropionate, known as NPP for short, is a form of Nandrolone with the phenylpropionate ester attached. Another well-known form of this steroid compound is Nandrolone Decanoate, also known as Deca-Durabolin. While NPP also used to be called Durabolin in the past, these days that name is avoided to prevent confusion between the two forms.
The Nandrolone hormone compound is the same in both forms, it is simply the ester which gives each a slightly different property in the body; especially when it comes to half-life and how fast it works, and how long it stays active in the bloodstream. This in turn dictates how often you’ll need to take your dosages.
NPP has a shorter half-life and so requires more frequent injections to keep your levels stable compared with Nandrolone Decanoate.
Nandrolone phenylpropionate in doses sufficient to promote muscle growth does suppress endogenous testosterone production. One 100mg nandrolone phenylpropionate injection shows a rapid suppression of serum testosterone levels. After about 2 to 3 days after the injection the serum testosterone levels will decrease by approximately 30% of the initial level. Testosterone levels will increase to a normal level after about 2 to 6 months.
Another advantage of Deca NPP is its potential to provide joint pain relief and improve joint health. It has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory properties, which can alleviate joint discomfort commonly experienced by bodybuilders due to intense training and heavy loads. This steroid also enhances collagen synthesis, a protein crucial for maintaining healthy joints, tendons, and ligaments. This can lead to improved joint flexibility, reduced pain, and better overall joint integrity, supporting long-term training and minimizing the risk of injury.
Pairing NPP use with a well-designed training program can optimize results. Focus on compound exercises that target multiple muscle groups, incorporate progressive overload to continually challenge your muscles, and allow for adequate recovery between workouts. A structured program tailored to your goals and fitness level will help maximize the muscle-building and strength-enhancing effects of NPP.
Doses for men vary between 200mg and 400mg over an 8-to-12-week period. The weekly dose is usually split into two doses per week due to the short acting nature of the phenylpropionate ester. Recommended dose for woman is 50mg per week (single dose once a week injection) for no longer than 4 to 6 weeks.
The recommended weekly dosage of Deca Durabolin is 200-400mg. The course should last 8-10 weeks in duration.
Beginner Deca Cycle
Beginners to Deca will want to pair this steroid with testosterone in a basic stack to ensure your test levels are not shut down. Test E and Deca is a common combination with a cycle length of 12 to 14 weeks. Deca at 200mg to 300mg per week will prove highly effective for any beginner, with Testosterone Enanthate at up to 500mg weekly is a necessary addition to ensure testosterone levels are maintained.
With a 14-week cycle, Deca would usually be stopped at week 12, so PCT can begin soon after the effects of the long lasting Deca are near their end point. Arimidex PCT at a dose of 0.5mg daily will greatly assist in reducing side effects.
Intermediate Deca Cycle
Intermediate users will look at using Deca-Durabolin with at least two other compounds, with Dball and Test Cyp being popular choices.
This 12-week cycle consists of 500mg per week of testosterone running for the entire 12 weeks, with 400mg weekly of Deca for the first 10 weeks only. Dianabol should be used only for the first 6 weeks at a daily dose of about 30mg. Throughout the entire cycle Arimidex should be taken to combat estrogen side effects at a dose of 0.5mg/day.
Advanced Deca Cycle
The most experienced users might increase the dosage of Deca up to 600mg weekly, although at 400mg most guys will find they are getting excellent results and not crossing the threshold into more severe side effects.
An advanced Deca cycle then consists of a weekly dose in the range of 400-600mg for 14 weeks, and if the goal is serious bulking, combining this with several other compounds: Testosterone Cypionate at the desired dosage (e.g., 500mg weekly) ran for the entire 16 weeks, Dball for the first 6 weeks at 50mg daily, and an addition of HGH also taken for 16 weeks as it is known to work extremely well in a bulking cycle with Deca.

Half-Life: Half-Life: The half-life of Deca Durabolin is approximately 6 to 12 days. This means it takes about 6 to 12 days for half of the drug to be eliminated from the body after an injection. Detectability: Deca Durabolin is known for its long detectability in the body. Due to the slow-release nature of the decanoate ester and its long half-life, Deca can be detected in the body for up to 18 months or longer after the last dose, depending on factors such as the dosage used, duration of use, individual metabolism, and the sensitivity of the testing methods. For athletes subject to drug testing, it is important to consider these detection times and plan accordingly to avoid positive tests for banned substances.
